SEPTEMBER BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Board members present were Carol Mills, Steven Ricks, Mary Anne Saunders, and Sandy Taylor. Staff members present were Mary Allington, Mary DeWalt, Alex Hartman, Anna Langrill, Monika Pomper, Jamie Thill and John Thill.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
      CM called the meeting to order at 8:31 am.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
      1. Changes or additions to the agenda. Star expansion updates were moved up on the agenda.
      2. Approval of the minutes of Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Board Meeting/Budget Hearing 
      3. Approval of the August Financial Reports
        SR moved to accept the consent agenda, MAS seconded, the motion carried.
    3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, PUBLIC WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE 
      The board briefly discussed the director’s report
    4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. Star Branch Library Expansion Update
        Presentation by two members of the expansion project committee
      2. Revision of Unattended Children Policy [Action Item]
        MAS motioned to accept the policy, SR seconded, and the motion carried
      3. Second installment of “Know Your Library District”
        MAS discussed the video series.
    5. NEW BUSINESS
      1. Privacy Confidentiality, and records retention policy review
        MD and JAT briefly discussed policy edits/merging policies. The Board discussed reviewing policies and making an action item for next time.
    6. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly meeting will be held at the Hidden Springs Branch on October 17, 2023 at 8:30am.   SR moved to adjourn the meeting, MAS seconded, the meeting adjourned at 9:29 am.
