MARCH BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Board members present were Carol Mills, Reba Bell, Steven Ricks, Sandy Taylor and Amy Fife. Staff members present were Mary DeWalt, Alex Hartman, Mary Allington, Monika Pomper, and Julie Rice.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
      Carol Mills called the meeting to order at 8:37 am.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
      1. The minutes of the February monthly meeting were presented. 
      2. The Financial statements for February were presented.
        SR moved to accept the consent agenda, RB seconded, the motion carried.
    3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, PUBLIC WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE 
    4. QUARTERLY REPORTS
      N/A
    5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. N/A
    6. NEW BUSINESS
      1. Conference and Study Room Policy revision
        Policy was discussed and suggestions for revision were made. To be approved at a future meeting.
      2. Notary Publics
        The addition of this service was discussed. Branches will identify staff to become Notaries.
      3. Legislative Update A series of books in the collection were read by trustees and reviewed under existing Idaho code to determine whether they contained material that fell within the current Idaho statutes’ definition of what is “harmful to minors”. Where it seemed so, the Board voted to remove the books from our collection. Where the books did not contain such material, the Board voted to retain.
    7. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly meeting will be held at the Victory Branch on April 18, 2023 at 8:30am.   SR moved to adjourn the meeting, CM seconded, the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 10:27 am.
