NOVEMBER BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting on November 19, 2024. Carol Mills, Sandy Taylor, Steven Ricks, and Mary Anne Saunders were board members present. Staff members present were Mary DeWalt, Mary Allington, Alex Hartman, Anna Langrill, Monika Pomper, and John Thill.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
           CM called the meeting to order at 8:31 am.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
      1. Changes or additions to the agenda.
      2. The minutes of monthly board meeting of Tuesday, October 15, 2024 were presented.
      3. The financial reports for October were presented.
        SR moved to accept the consent agenda, MAS seconded, the motion carried.
    3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, PUBLIC WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE 
      The board briefly discussed the report presented by MD.
    4. QUARTERLY REPORTS
      1. N/A
    5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. Star Library expansion update
        Planning continues including behind the scenes work regarding the site.
      2. Hidden Springs Library expansion update.
        Work continues after a additional delays. Inspections will be scheduled.
      3. Personnel Policy revisions [Action Item] After discussion of proposed changes, MAS moved to accept the revised Personnel Policy, ST seconded, motion carried.
      4. Trustee Zones update
        Paperwork will be prepared and presented for vote at the next meeting.
    6. NEW BUSINESS
      1. N/A
    7. EXECUTIVE SESSION
      There was unanimous consent to enter into executive session at 9:26 am under IC 74-206(1)(c) to discuss a property related matter.
    8. RETURN FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION
      The board returned from executive session at 9:39 am. There was agreement to move forward on planning for the property matter with a formal decision at a future meeting.
    9. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly board meeting will be held at the Victory Branch on December 17, 2024 at 8:30am.
      The meeting adjourned at 9:41 am.
