MAY BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting on May 21, 2024. Board members present were Melodie Huttash, Carol Mills, Mary Anne Saunders, Steven Ricks, and Sandy Taylor. Staff members present were Mary Allington, Mary DeWalt, Alex Hartman, Anna Langrill, Molly Nota, Monika Pomper, Nancy Roberts, and Jamie Thill.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
           CM called the meeting to order at 8:32 am.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
      1. Changes or additions to the agenda.
      2. The minutes of Tuesday, April 16, 2024 board meeting were presented.
      3. The minutes of the April budget hearing setting meeting were presented.
      4. The financial reports for April were presented.
        MAS moved to accept the consent agenda, ST seconded, the motion carried.
    3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, PUBLIC WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE 
      The board briefly discussed public written correspondence presented by MD.
    4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. Star Branch Library Expansion Update
        Star Branch Library expansion committee member updated the board.
      2. Hidden Springs Branch Library expansion update.
        Hidden Springs Branch Library expansion consultant updated the board and asked for contractor referrals.
      3. Camera Surveillance and Photography Policy Update
        ST moved to accept the Camera Surveillance and Photography policy, MH seconded, and the motion carried.
    5. NEW BUSINESS
      1. Community Lending Service/Annexation Compensation
        SR moved to that we continue with the Community Lending Service/Annexation Compensation, MAS seconded, and the motion passed.
      2. Reconsideration Form Update
        The Board discussed revising the reconsideration from and changed the modified form to read, “Please confirm that you have read, viewed, and listened to the material.”
        SR approved to accept the modified reconsideration form, MAS seconded, and the motion was carried.
      3. Selection Policy Review and Update to reference Children’s School and Library Protection Act.
        The Board discussed revisions for the Selection Policy and how to incorporate the Children’s School and Library Protection Act. This will be an action item on the June Board Meeting agenda.
    6. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly board meeting will be held at the Victory Branch Library on June 18, 2024 at 8:30am.
      The meeting adjourned at 9:45 am.
