MARCH BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly meeting on March 18, 2025. Carol Mills, Sandy Taylor, Steven Ricks, Mary Anne Saunders were board members present. Staff members present were Alex Hartman, John Thill and Monika Pomper.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
           CM called the meeting to order at 8:38 am.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
      1. Changes or additions to the agenda.
      2. Approval of the Minutes of Tuesday, February 5 and Tuesday, February 18, 2025 meetings
      3. Approval of the February Financial Reports
        MAS motion to approve, SR seconded, the motion carried.
    3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, PUBLIC WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE 
      The board briefly discussed information presented in the report.
    4. QUARTERLY REPORTS
      1. N/A
    5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. Hidden Springs expansion completion
        The branch is fully operational. There are a few small fixes that need to be done. Friends provided ~$10,000 worth of funds for expansion. Still want to purchase outdoor furnishings for outside the library (e.g. picnic tables) and would like the town to assist with funding. One final payment due to the general contractor. Whole project will come in just under $100,000. – SR
      2. Star expansion
        MAS reported that there was nothing to report.
      3. Trustee Zones
        Resolution was denied. CM reported
    6. NEW BUSINESS
      1. Annual Public Budget Hearing date [Action Item]
        Tuesday August 19th. Board Meeting at 5:00 p.m and Budget Meeting at 6:00 p.m. Location: Lake Hazel Branch. ST moved to approve. MAS seconded. Motion carried.
      2. Boise Public Agreement [Action Item] Motion to accept SR ; seconded MAS. Unanimously carried.
      3. Declaration of trustee vacancy [Action Item] Melodie Huttash has formally resigned. Declared officially today. Will take up appointee at the next meeting. SR will contact each declared candidate and ask them the usual questions, then a vote will take place at the next meeting.
    7. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly board meeting will be held at the Lake Hazel Branch on April 15, 2025 at 8:30am.
      The meeting adjourned at 9:16 am.
