JULY BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting on July 22, 2024. Board members present were Carol Mills, Steven Ricks, Mary Anne Saunders, and Sandy Taylor. Staff members present were Mary Allington, Mary DeWalt, Anna Langrill, Monika Pomper, Jamie Thill and John Thill.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
           CM called the meeting to order at 8:33 am.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
        1. Changes to the agenda.
        2. Approval of the Minutes of Tuesday, June 18, 2024 Board Meeting
        3. Approval of the June Financial Reports

      SR moved to accept the consent agenda, MAS seconded, and the motion carried.

    3. QUARTERLY REPORTS There was a brief discussion of quarterly circulation statistics. Circulation is down across the consortium.
    4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. Star Branch Library expansion
        There was nothing new to report.
      2. Hidden Springs Branch Library expansion
        The board briefly discussed the Hidden Springs Branch expansion. The building permit is on pause. Fundraising is going well.
      3. Trustee business, bylaws review
        Length of board member terms of office were shortened from 6 years to 4 years of service.
        MAS moved to accept the updated Trustee Bylaws, SR seconded, the motion passed.
    1. NEW BUSINESS
      1. Display Case Policy
        CM requested a small edit to the opening paragraph. The phrase “are applied to…” was changed to “the following rules apply to the use of library display cases…”
        SR motioned to accept the updated Display Case Policy, MAS seconded, and the motion carried.
    2. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly board meeting will be held at the Victory Branch Library on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 5 pm. The budget hearing for the proposed FY2024 budget will be held at 6pm on the same day.
      The meeting adjourned at 9:17 am.
