AUGUST BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting on August 20, 2024. Carol Mills, Sandy Taylor, Steven Ricks, Mary Anne Saunders, and Melodie Huttash were board members present. Staff members present were Mary Allington, Mary DeWalt, AlexHartman, Anna Langrill, and John Thill.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
           CM called the meeting to order at 5:02 pm.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
      1. Changes or additions to the agenda.
      2. The minutes of Tuesday, July 16, 2024 were presented.
      3. The financial reports for July were presented.
        ST moved to accept the consent agenda, MAS seconded, the motion carried.
    3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, PUBLIC WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE 
      The board briefly discussed the report presented by MD.
    4. QUARTERLY REPORTS     N/A
    5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. Star Library expansion update
        Information about a potential revised plan was presented. Expansion pushed out a year.
      2. Hidden Springs Library expansion update.
        Permits in hand; contractors sought. Work expected to start in September, not take long.
    6. NEW BUSINESS
      1. FY25 budget preliminary presentation and discussion
        FY25 expenditure needs and revenue discussed including the allowable 3% increase.
      2. Personnel Policy updates for September review
      3. Trustee Zone discussion
        Information will be gathered for further discussion.
    7. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly board meeting will be held at the Star Branch Library on September 17, 2024 at 8:30am.
      The meeting adjourned at 6:12 pm.
