APRIL BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting on April 16, 2024. Board members present were Steven Ricks, Mary Anne Saunders, and Sandy Taylor. Staff members present were Mary Allington, Mary DeWalt, Alex Hartman, Anna Langril, Jana Hill, Molly Nota, Monika Pomper, Jamie Thill, and John Thill.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
      ST called the meeting to order at 8:29 am.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
      1. Changes or additions to the agenda.
      2. The minutes of Tuesday, March 19, 2024 were presented.
      3. The financial reports for March were presented.
        MAS moved to accept the consent agenda, ST seconded, the motion carried.
    3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, PUBLIC WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE 
      The board briefly discussed public written correspondence presented by MD.
    4. QUARTERLY REPORTS
      1. MD will email the quarterly reports to the board.
    5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. Star Branch Library Expansion Update
        Star expansion committee member discussed the expansion and shared the remodel conceptual design plan. SR discussed meeting with the Star Mayor.
      2. Hidden Springs Library expansion update.
        JT and HSB expansion consultant updated the Board about the Hidden Springs Branch Library expansion. SR explained the building plans further. SR pointed out that we owe a debt of gratitude to Eric Faber for committing time and effort to these projects. JT informed the board about the new North Friends group and HSB fundraising efforts.
      3. Legislative action and policy discussion
        MD explained suggestions by the Deputy State Librarian. MD stated that legal counsel would be sought and discussed plans to revise the reconsideration form to include HB710.
    6. NEW BUSINESS
      1. Retention Policy Time Period Modifications
        SR moved to accept the Retention Policy Time Period Modifications, MAS seconded, motion carried.
      2. Camera Policy Update
        The Camera Policy will be an action item at the next meeting.
    7. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly meeting will be held at the Victory Branch on May 21, 2024 at 8:30am.
      SR moved to adjourn the meeting, MAS seconded, the meeting adjourned at 9:28 am.
