Announcing Ada Express - off site pick-up/return of library materials

The Ada Community Library now offers Express pick up/return sites. The two sites, Ada Express -Lake Hazel Village off Five Mile and Lake Hazel and Ada Express Star -Hope Lutheran Church off Linder and State are strategically located between existing library facilities and are accessible 24/7. How does it work?

An Ada Community Library card or card from another LYNX! consortium library is necessary for this service. Place a reserve online for desired library materials (or call the library for assistance) and we'll deliver to a secure locker at your preferred Ada Express. You will be notified by phone or email when the items are ready for pick up. Items may be picked up any time/any day but are pre-checked out so they should be picked up at your earliest convenience. Items will be removed from locker and returned to owning library if not picked up after three days at the Lake Hazel site and five days at the Star Hope Lutheran site.

How do I reserve items online?

1. Search our online catalog www.adalib.org for the item(s) you want.
2. When you have found an item in the catalog, click on the title. The new screen should have a column labeled “Item Information” on the right and an area labeled “Copy/Holding Information” at the bottom
3. Just above and to the right of “Copy/Holding Information” is a button for “Place Hold on First Available Copy”. Click on that.
4. Enter your library card and the last four digits of your phone number.
5. Beside “Select a location for pickup,” be sure to use the drop down menu and choose either “Ada Express - Lake Hazel Village” or “Ada Express - Star Hope Lutheran Church.”
6. Click on request.
7. Repeat for each item you are interested in.
8. When the item is available and has been delivered to the requested Ada Express site, you will receive a telephone call or email with instructions on how to retrieve your materials. Items may be picked up any time/any day but are pre-checked out so they should be picked up at your earliest convenience. Items will be removed from locker and returned to owning library if not picked up after five days. Due to very high demand at the Lake Hazel location, we have shortened the time for removal of items not picked up to three days.
